Dumpty's Death

by Wils

Humpty sat upon the wall
“Goodbye cruel world, to land I fall
I give my life so others may
Have a happy fun-filled day.”

With a most resounding crack
Humpty fell and broke his back
No soldiers came to Humpty’s aid
So in the frying pan he laid

With a sizzle and a spat
Bacon was added, lying flat
Whilst Humpty’s life was slowly draining
Tummy’s waited with necks craning

Removed from pan and nicely plated
Humpty’s death has always been debated
Questions surround this breakfast order
Was his death suicide, or murder?
