A Prayer Poem.

A Fool Denies

Oh, Heavenly Father

please have mercy on the fool
who denies an apple is red
and the sky is blue
or the ground shaking beneath their feet

his folly carries him to new lows
challenging the wisdom of love
the worthiness of faith
and the oracles of truth

she doesn't see
the beauty that surrounds her
so peace forever escapes
and life remains useless

Lord, forgive the simpletons
for their pompous words
spoken in ignorance
do not strike them
but forgive
enlighten their journey
to a life of understanding

in Jesus' name, amen
