Writing to my pen pals
Is an awful lot of fun
We share recipes and thoughts
And things that we have done

I decorate the envelopes
I make them pretty, don't you see
Once they have all gone out
My friends will send some back to me

I have met so many people
In my adventures through the pen pal land
I've learned of other countries,
Some covered in snow, some covered in sand

With them I have formed a prayer chain
That went all around the world
The results came very quickly
And I got to see that little girl

My pals have helped me with my sadness
They have comforted my grief
They have listened to me rant and rave
And they have offered some relief

I don't know where I would be
Without these pals of mine
I am so glad I have them
They make getting mail divine
