Bananas are the most...

Fabulous Fruit

Banana, banana, oh where do I start?
First time that I tasted you, you had my heart.
I've had you in many delectable ways,
in cakes, puddings, pies, you have brightened my days.

Your bright yellow color, always brings me cheer,
each morning for cereal, you're always here.
Forever in my life, we will never split,
unless it's for ice cream, then I'll allow it!

Banana sandwiches, when I was a kid,
did you make them tasty? You certainly did!
Just you, sliced on white bread and smushed together,
for an eight-year-old girl no lunch was better!

The best part of all is you're here all year long,
on all of my picnics, you're invited along.
And when you turn ripe you're banana bread bound,
a more versatile fruit than you can't be found.

Banana, banana, you are such a treat,
this poem is now done, 'cause I need to eat.
Who better to satisfy hunger than you?
Banana, by now you know my love is true.
