“Surprise!”
I’ve been practicing how to do this for weeks. As each day gets closer, I am a mixture of nervousness and excitement. My parents, back in Australia, have no idea that I’m coming. I have not been home in six years, and I know they’ll be thrilled.
I give myself a pat down. Tickets, passport, money; all there as I wait for my taxi to the airport. A knock announces its arrival.
“Surprise!!”
My parents stand at the door!
