Righteous was his first name, his family name was Lee
His parents already knew who, they wanted him to be
The Apostles were his teachers, and Jesus was his principal
His knowledge of the Scriptures, was said to be invincible

On matters of the Bible, you could never shake him
Disobedient to the word, you could never make him
But then she came to town, with her Jezebel like ways
She soon got his attention, he walked about in a daze

He tried preaching to her, constantly without pause
Gradually he weakened, her winning smile the cause
His parents were desperate, for a way to break her spell
Failure, they were afraid, would send their son to hell

They offered her money, to leave their son alone
She laughed in their faces, she was bad to the bone
They left town together, he has not been seen since
That he was lost to the Devil, his parents were not convinced

One day there was a knock at their door,
There stood a young man they'd not seen before
Although he seemed familiar, at first, they could not see
Then he introduced himself, said his name was Obvious Lee.

That family did shed great tears of joy
They opened their home and hearts to this boy
The battle they fought had finally been won
