Being Held Hostage

by Debi Pick Marquette

For the last two years,
I'm confined to my home.
I'd have no contact,
If it weren't for my phone.

My husband will go,
To town if he pleases.
I'd like to go with,
Perhaps when Hell freezes.

He likes his control,
He's overprotective.
I'm being held hostage,
I need a detective.

I miss my children,
And my grandchildren too!
My siblings and friends,
I don't think have a clue.

So here I will stay,
While I'm watching to see.
When Covid is gone,
I will Finally be Free!!

A Milestone Post

I chose this subject for my hostage poem, as it was a reality for me! The Beautiful, but eerie art from my granddaughter, shows exactly how it felt for me, living with Lupus, an immune compromised disease, during the pandemic.
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
