In the book the King found...

Words of Worth

by Boogienights

Can you see that distant mountain?
On it lies an old stone fountain.
Buried 'neath it was a treasure,
worth more than a man could measure.

A bold King who was defeated,
to this mountain, he retreated.
But he took along the treasure,
worth much more than kings could measure.

A book he had, was buried deep,
he'd found it in the castle keep.
Stories it held, of all creation,
each page read, sparked his elation.

A lovely garden held just two,
in the beginning, but God knew...
That wonders great, would soon unfold,
so many stories yet untold.

That precious tome, of stories old,
to this bold King, worth more than gold.
The King secured it in his vest,
to the invaders went the rest.

The bold King wounded from the start
could feel the life drain from his heart.
Only mere hours would remain,
but this bold King pushed past the pain.

The brave King knew, that soon he'd die,
up somewhere on that mountain high.
They would destroy the book if found,
so hid it, he did, in the ground.

The bold King felt no fear or strife,
for what was waiting after life.
For he had learned, a God on high,
would soon embrace him by and by.

For years the book, beneath stone lay,
'til it was dug up one fine day.
Those who could read, then spread the word,
by everyone, God's word was heard.

Though many wars have raged through ages,
the King found within those pages...
The word of God brings peace to all,
even the boldest Kings who fall.
