Rivers of time

by royowen

What lies around the bend, you ask,
what future holds behind its mask?
We'll never know the road ahead,
yet trust is best, be Spirit-led.

Content, I watch as years speed by,
some spent on peaks, some deserts dry.
But I care not where e're paths lie,
my God's a stream, a wind-blown sigh.

For I embrace what futures bring,
and yet to time I do not cling.
My life's contained in timeless climes,
not in the realms of clock-borne chimes.

If faith was just an empty shell,
then trust is like a nightmare's hell.
But I will dream of cloudless skies,
where visions mount hope's vict'ry cries.

In truth the believer is not subject to time. All mankind will fulfil Gods plan. Whether vessels of faith or otherwise, for He is not confined to the natural realm. Time is in His hands, but not so freedom of choice for people, He woos, like a lover does.

Psalm 31:15
My times are in your hands: deliver me from the hands of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me. KJV

Ecclesiastes 3:1
to everything there is a season, and a time for every and a time to every purpose under Heaven. KJV

Psalm 46:5
There is a river, the streams that make glad the the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most high.KJV
