No bigger than a beagle in size
Fiona was born in the wee
hours of January twenty seventeen;

Team members watched with glee
but also with a sense of uncertainty
because the tiny creature was born premature
her future was all but secure.

Thanks though to round-the-clock care
and lots of hearty prayers
today Fiona is a thriving teen
happy as a jelly bean.

Four years on, the zoo still posts updates
on its most loved media sensation.
Her cuteness captured hearts from the start,
a medium-sized pooch that still loves to smooch.

She now enjoys soaking in the big pool with mom,
and saying hello to fans that come to cheer her on.
With a big grin, Fiona stops to pose underwater for a photo
a true diva at heart, she sure loves to put on a show.
