I feed the stray cats
every day.
They gobble the food
then run away.

I try to lure them
close to me
to have a bit
of company.

I'd love to cuddle,
stroke their fur,
show some affection,
make them purr

but they never
want to know.
They come to eat
then off they go

So ungrateful
for their food
I wish they wouldn't
be so rude.
