The game starts when the ump says, "Play ball."
The crowd boos when he misses a call.
Sometimes the players will steal a base.
Every team's best pitcher is an ace.

There are many swings that players take.
We don't like errors that players make.
Sometimes winning teams will bat around.
All of the pitchers stand on a mound.

"Kids" young and old think the game is fun.
The crowd stands and cheers for each home run.
Playing this sport is many boys' dream.
Everyone roots for their favorite team.

When there's four balls, a player will walk.
Sometimes a pitcher commits a balk.
A great catch will cause the fans to shout.
The ump calls three strikes and says, "Yer out!'

When there's a tie, the teams will play some more
Until at last there's a winning score.
Even some girls like to play this sport.
Parents will give them lots of support.
