This work has reached the exceptional level
Free Verse Club

Beginnings and Endings

Beginnings and endings are the only things
our finite minds understand.
We time our lives,
living by clocks, seasons,
sun ups and sun downs,
and time is important in our lives.
But . . .
what if there were no time?
We don’t remember our own
beginning,
to each of us, we’ve always been.
We can’t foresee our ending
or see ourselves as not here.
Here
Now
are all we truly know.
What if there were
no beginnings,
no ends?
