Celebrate Life

Now that I'm old, time passes fast,
whereas when young it lasts and lasts.
I see the lines that crease my face,
that creams or makeup can't erase.

There's so much that I haven't done,
so many days of having fun.
I wish I could relive the past,
now that I'm old, time passes fast.

I'm not dead yet, that's plain to see,
I haven't given up on me.
I won't let dreams I have slip past,
now that I'm old, time passes fast.

There's so much love I have to give,
excited for the life I live.
Away my sadness I will cast,
now that I'm old, time passes fast.

Minutes and hours tick away,
as I grow older every day.
I plan to have myself a blast,
now that I'm old, time passes fast.

Writing Prompt
A kyrielle is made of quatrains that rhyme. Each stanza (that is a quatrain) has a line that repeats, so a line from a previous stanza. That line usually (but does not necessarily have to) be the last line in the stanza. Each line in the poem has eight syllables. There is no limit to the number of stanzas. Usually there are three or more stanzas. Any type of rhyme scheme can be used. More information and an example.
