I'm losing friends
that are dear to me
though it's not their
time to go.

It's happening so
frequently now,
no wonder I'm feeling
so low

So much grief
and pain I feel.
I just keep thinking
this can't be real.

Why must good families
suffer such pain
is the question I ask
again and again.

So many lives
ruined endlessly
by this cruel curse
called ... the big "C"
