My husband, Aubrey, spent almost 22 years in the United States Navy. These years were split almost evenly between active duty and reserve duty. Aubrey died unexpectedly on November 27, 2021, after a 4-week roller coaster battle in a Heart Hospital. He will be buried in a military cemetery, hence the delay between his death and the military interment. The funeral was held December 2nd.

After the contest, this will be added to a book which will be entitled "Good-bye, My Red-Headed Boy."
