Folly of Failure
by zanya
Failure hangs out
in hallowed halls of academia
where sharp intellects fear its incursion
on football pitches
where players feel its chill
in hospital wards
where frail ones cower from its power
in homes
where families can't make ends meet
on dating sites
where potential lovers feel its clammy frisson
in workplaces
where trembling hands scramble to meet daily deadlines
Like a predator, it can stride across our best efforts
But only if we give it permission
