It's better to breed cattle in a lairage.

Wealthier in a Lairage

by Lloyd T. Okoko

Herds are better off in a lairage.
Lairage serves as home for cattle hedged.
Hedged in a lairage devoid of grazing.
Grazing sluices flesh out of cattle.
Cattle becomes lean and worn out.
Out goes flesh of cattle as payback.
Payback for wandering long distances.
Distances covered are fueled with oozed out flesh.
Flesh pines away while grazing in the fields.
Fields where fodder is sourced for the lairage.
Lairage sold fodder fetches fat for cattle.
Cattle bred in a lairage makes high yields.
Yields more earnings than grazing cattle.
Cattle in a lairage yields more meat for sales.
Sales made from grazing cattle yields less meat.
Meat sales make the optimum in a lairage.

Open grazing of cattle has been a major cause of dispute between farmers and herdsmen. In Nigeria, these disputes had often led to bloody clashes; with loss of lives and property. This work, "Wealthier in a Lairage" is my humble submission to nip this lingering problem at the bud.
