She stepped out of the restaurant and into the darkness alone. As she walked, she heard footsteps rapidly approaching. Frightened, she quickened her pace.

She whirled about thrusting her arms forward, pepper spray ready.
The waiter looped her pocketbook over her outstretched arm.
"Miss, you forgot this".
