A 100-word contest entry
Parisian Attraction
by RodG
I stared at a bank of paintings. The Eiffel Tower stood in the near background, bronzed by the afternoon sun. My eyes were drawn to a watercolor sketch.
"You like that one?" asked a young dark-haired man with an irresistible smile.
"I do! C'est beau!"
He laughed. "You Americans love our tower, no?"
I smiled. "Oui."
He plucked the sketch I loved from the stand and placed it in my hands.
"No! I can't--"
"A gift, mademoiselle, for you are lovely."
I leaned forward and kissed his lips.
He sighed. "The next I paint will have you in it."
