When I was employed,
Friday was the day,
Ending the working week,
Looking forward to my pay.
That's when I was young,
Time didn't mean a thing,
Weekend was all mine,
To party, dance and sing.
However, growing older,
Priorities changed for me,
Weekends became precious,
It was 'me' time I was free.
But now that I'm retired
I don't have a favorite day,
Each day is just a blessing,
I hope it stays that way.
