Loving October

by Boogienights

I write about October,
not because it's here right now,
but because it is my favorite,
has always been somehow.

The warm winds of the summer,
have departed, been replaced.
By autumn's fresh and cool, crisp air,
 a feeling I embrace.

October days are shorter,
night time settles in too soon.
But all that is forgiven,
when I see the harvest moon.

September's brilliant colors,
in October start to fade.
That sets the scene for Halloween,
a spooky kind of shade.

October feels like magic,
there's just something in the air.
As pumpkins and corn mazes
seem to pop up everywhere.

I got married in October,
my life with him has been grand.
A special month when he had placed,
a ring on my left hand.

I look forward to October,
it's a time I hold so dear.
My favorite month without a doubt,
the best time of the year!
