I love my wife so very dearly, as anyone can see,
so why is it she often doesn't appreciate me?

I try to be very helpful and attentive, always nice,
so why is it she spurns my keenly wise advice?

For instance, I showed her how to fold my shirts,
and she hit me with the hanger! It really hurts!

Early in our marriage, I showed her how Mom cooks,
boy-o-boy, the words I heard, never mind the looks!

But I will withstand the slings and arrows of my lot,
and continue my support, whether appreciated or not.

I'm just about to join her in the dining room for lunch,
to give a self-improvement aid she'll love, I have a hunch!

I'm gifting her a book with a diet and exercise 30-day regime,
NOW she'll see her well-being will ALWAYS be my theme!
