My Own Little Corner

by Mimi Linny

My Muse Contest Winner

A little corner is where I sit
To rouse my brain, to stretch my wit
To find that phrase, that word, that mime
With perfect rhythm, perfect rhyme
That tells a yarn, a tale or story
Fit for any category
With fingers nimble, striking keys
For crafting words in expertise
Each irksome stumble, trial or fail
May turn the tide to then unveil
The perfect sound or connotation
Ripe to fit the situation
With flawless terminology
And orchestrated harmony
I'll savor as the thrill does rise
Euphoria intensifies
And finally in exultation
Triumphantly in proclamation
As lyricist practitioner
Emblaze with pride...

My muse is my favorite corner, a quiet little place where I can go with my trusty, old-fashioned typewriter to peacefully sit, think and dream of fabulous new ways to turn words into wonderful thoughts!
