Minnesota Summer's Eve

by Boogienights

Soft light filters through the trees,
as the sun sets in the west.
Lake Superior hugs the shore,
out of five great lakes, the best!

Seagulls scream in pure delight,
knowing treats will fly their way.
Tourists throw expensive corn,
popped up fresh most every day.

Beach grass waving in the wind,
keeps the shifting sands intact.
A passing freighter blast's its horn,
as our lift bridge signals back.

Awash with color, flowers bloom,
that flourish with rain and sun.
Rose bushes with heady scents
in the park won't be outdone.

Birds above sing harmonies,
'Neath the stars and moon's bright glow.
Nature's pleased with what she's wrought,
this evening's summertime show.
