A poem about an object you love

Ode to a Recliner

by AliMom

It took only one passing glance
One longing desirous stare
For a deep and abiding romance
With a lovely reclining brown chair

There were others both stylish and trendy
Some fluffy, some hard, and some flat
But nothing so great for my end-y
That could comfort my bottom like that
Slept overnight in its embrace
Snug in its loving arms
Book opened to a random place
Lost in its cushiony charms
Room for a grandchild or two
Its bottom is wide and cushy
When kids bounce like they're in a zoo
It still happily hugs my tushy
Marvelous chair which lies back when I need
May you always stretch out to recline
The impression you make is a good one indeed
Like the one, I sometimes leave behind.
