Widow at the Window

by Lana Marie

I'm looking out my window pane
at the world I once knew
Empty streets
Void of children playing.
My husband gone
Kids are grown.
Years gone by locked in my memory
not enough without human touch.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner time
the table set for one.
No conversations had
just me and my iPad.
Scrolling through FB pictures
everyone looks happy,
Lonely tears well up in my eyes
