at the wake of day
and wine
helps her fall asleep
at night
cuz caffeine
drowned the sand man.
But
in the middle
of the day,
Joy
is her comforter
no libation will satisfy
except escaping
to her happy place
where nature
sings its own songs
and the sky
paints dreams
on her memories.
