This Crazy Dream

What Does It Mean?

I have a recurring dream
in which I'm trying to outrun,
a faceless foe pursuing me.
A person I would like to shun.

I'm terrified that I'll be caught,
as I run down some spiral stairs.
It's dark and I can't see too much,
others can see, but no one cares.

I run so fast to get away
that my feet lift up off the ground.
And suddenly I'm flying free,
so fast I fly without a sound.

I know who's ever in pursuit,
will never, ever catch me now.
And that is when I always wake,
with some cold sweat on my brow.

I  don't know what this dream means,
I have never figured it out.
I've never learned who's chasing me,
or what the whole thing's  about.

It's kind of freaky don't you think?
 never see who's chasing me.
I've never turned around to look,
perhaps I don't want to see.

Have you ever had a dream like that?
Recurring throughout the years?
It's frustrating not to see their face,
sometimes it just brings me to tears.

I still have this dream  today,
but not as much as before.
Can you interpret this crazy dream?
Then explain what it means, I implore.
