A Sonnet - live for Now

Fame in the Frame

by Dolly'sPoems

Let those who are in favour, savour fame,
and boast about their talent and their tune;
and wallow in the glory of their game,
until it fades into the afternoon.

And once a victory has made its mark,
awarded for an honour, well deserved;
the warrior forgotten in the park--
a name upon a statue unobserved.

Our history decays into the past,
as now is all that matters-- time is short;
and looking back, our life will never last--
the end is nigh, in yesterday we're caught.

Tomorrow has no future, has no name,
the time is now to gain a little fame.
