Double Refrain Kyrielle

Those Tender Years

by damommy

Rememb’ring when my sons were small,
I love to think back on the time
the world was home, that's all they knew,
those tender years they were all mine.

Then school days came and off they went.
I love to think back on the time
before the days away they spent,
those tender years they were all mine.

Time flew so fast and they were grown.
I love to think back on the time
before they’d left the nest and flown,
those tender years they were all mine.

Were one for three and three for one.
I love to think back on the time
before their growing days were done,
those tender years they were all mine.

They never changed much from those days.
I love to think back on the time,
but they still have those loving ways,
these later years, they’re still all mine.
