A Kyrielle for the Repetition contest

Timeless Treasures

by June Sargent

Like heirlooms in a treasure chest,
we store away our memories,
the ones that make us feel we're blessed -
those special moments that we seize.

Like heirlooms in a treasure chest
that keep their sparkle through the years,
the happy times outweigh the rest -
inspiring smiles and drying tears.

Like heirlooms in a treasure chest,
each milestone we collect as pearls.
When strung together we're impressed
by how Gods loving grace unfurls.

Like heirlooms in a treasure chest,
my family's my pride and joy.
The prize of any mother's quest
is love that time cannot destroy.

Each line within the poem consists of only eight syllables. There is no limit to the amount of stanzas a Kyrielle may have, but three is considered the accepted minimum.
