This is what woke me up this very morning.
Birdsong of Praise
I awoke this morning with the
Song of sparrow's solo chatter.
She squeaked, "Praiz-da," without ceasing.
All else slept; it did not matter.
Over and again she tweeted,
Calling out in dark of morning,
"Praiz-da, praiz-da, praiz-da, praiz-da."
Causing me a sense of scorning.
I tried, in vain, to block the noise.
But still, she sang, and did not halt,
Until a second song, I heard,
"Dah-lor, dah-lor," came bursting out.
Joined by a friend, it took not long
To hear the choir, multiplied,
And soon a symphony of birds
Put on a concert, just outside.
"Ord-jeez," "Ciss-krise," now joined the tune,
Mezmerized, I lay and heard
Not just random noisy tweeting,
But I began to hear the Word.
"Praiz-da," "Ord-jeez," "Ciss-krise," and then,
Just as the sun released her rays,
"Praiz-da," "Ord-jeez," "Ciss-krise," once more.
The birds were singing out in praise.
Their lovely and amazing show
Inspired me to join them then.
"Praiz-da, ord-jeez, ciss-krise," their song:
Praise the Lord, Jesus Christ! Amen.

Psalm 65:8 (NIV)
The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders;â?¨where morning dawns, where evening fades,â?¨you call forth songs of joy.
