A mourning queen

God Save The Queen

by tempeste

Queen's head hung low, her steps
unsteady as she entered the cathedral. Dressed
in full black attire, a reflection of her grief.
Pinned to her left shoulder, the diamond brooch
she wore during her honeymoon with her beloved Duke.
The pearled necklace and earrings, a sweet nod to their wedding day.
A minute of silence was held in memory of the Prince,
for sixty seconds the nation stood still, fell quiet.

Quiet writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
Write a poem that ends with the word: quiet.

I have always had respect for the Queen of England . She dedicated her life to the well-being of her people..she has always been a figure to look up to ...something one can not say for her children and family...a shameful lot..with an exception or two.

The latest scandal....Her grandson's interview...it was appalling ...trashing his family. He made a choice to leave his royal duties fine ..I don't understand the backstabbing. Why not just go his/ their way.
