a fifty-word story
Nigel and Ned
by Bill Schott
Neither Nigel nor Ned nodded to their neighbor Newton. He, Newton, noticed and noted their negligence while still negotiating nighttime pseudo-nuptial niceties with Nelly Nightingale's nethers.
Nigel knew Newton had no noble intensions for the nubile Nelly, so his and Ned's negated nod gave the knave, Newton, a needed negative notification towards his, Newton's, nefarious notions.
Nelly nixed Newton's nuanced noodling anyway and called it a night.
No harm no foul noted Ned. Newton nodded.
