75 Word Flash Fiction
The Truth
by bhogg
The driveway wound among trees between neighbors. Allen bitched to his wife, "David's Jack Russell chases my car every time I back up."
The inevitable happened. Despite appropriate caution, Allen backed out, ran over the dog and killed it.
"Jeez honey. I don't know what to tell David."
"Well, try the truth."
"David, I've got some good news and some bad news."
"Oh?'
"The good news...you're going to save lots of money on dog food."
