Love and Kindness

Love and Kindness travel
across the ravaged land,
filling hearts again with hope
soft words, or helping hands.

They listen to sad stories
stroking teary cheeks,
try to ease the endless fears,
sweet solace to the meek.

Kindness, like a butterfly
sprinkles joy like rain,
just to lift our spirits
then she moves on again.

Love is much more serious
elusive some would say,
but when she settles in your heart
she is there to stay.
