As Day Dawns

My Faith Contest Winner 
While searching for answers, I walk through the darkness
and find myself peering at shadows for clues.
A colorless cloak seems to dim my awareness
and dampen the vibrancy ~ truth's brilliant hues.

I journey past midnight and struggle with blindness
unsure of the way and which course I should take.
Devoid of direction, which pathway to follow,
I find I've arrived at the shores of a lake.

The stillness of life that surrounds the deep water
provides a new thought not considered before.
Why must I insist that I have all the answers ~
Providence asks that I trust Him once more.

Completely, deep silence envelops my senses;
a feeling of breathlessness enters my soul.
Surrounded, embraced by the misty gray shadows,
I'm one with the dawn as the daylight unfolds.
