Alarm Clocks

by HarryT

Callous alarm clocks
hands like whips
militant tick-tocks
on power trips

they’re cruel
they rule
never stop
tickety-tock

every morning
without warning
alarming blunderbuss
making a fuss

just isn’t fair
they don’t care
jarring our sleep
until we’re asleep
six feet deep
