Conflict of Interests

by DiaMarEl

Spring barged into Winter's house
and quickly made her presence known
to each inch of his snoring confines.

Moaning nooks and crannies stretched
as she pulled heavy blankets off
and hummed a rise and shine tune.

A catchy pulse of newness
swelled and interlaced fingers with
a nearby choir of feathery chums.

Like magic, dancing began
once drawn curtains were pushed aside
to reveal a ballroom of bright blooms.

Perfumed and satiny breath
cast its sweet and congenial
spell on blue ceilings and mossy floors.

Winter squelched the fun too soon
and restored his frosty shrine by
ousting Spring in one bellowing boot.
