A Quatrain poem

I long ....

I long to stand I long to heal
shallow words unlike the tide
forever rise yet never seal
my once calm life drowns at your side

your mind descends as fists ascend
I long to leave I long to hide
my teary eyes that never end
among the ripples you provide

prolonged pain now finds the door
upon scarred knees still bowing down
I long to live I long to soar
to freedoms owned before your sound

I'll walk with pride I will be known
with name that's mine so visibly
unburdened I'll fly 'till fully grown
I long to be I long for me
