Two meanings: see notes

When, Finally, I See Your Face

by Leann DS

One day, when Jesus takes me Home,
Restoring me with perfect grace,
My eyes will see and heart will soar
When, finally, I see your face.

Familiar hand will reach for mine,
And pull me into warm embrace,
But all I'll want to do is stare
When, finally, I see your face.

You'll call my name to welcome me
From earthly plane to holy place,
But in your eyes, my name will shine,
When, finally, I see your face.

I will not recognize your lips
That for so long, my fingers traced.
But faithfully, I'll know it's you,
When, finally, I see your face.

So, I anticipate this day
When dark is filled with lightened space,
Your smile will say a thousand words
When, finally, I see your face.

A kyrielle is made of quatrains that rhyme. Each stanza (that is a quatrain) has a line that repeats, so a line from a previous stanza. Usually there are three or more stanzas. Any type of rhyme scheme can be used. More information and an example.

This poem has two meanings: the first is a person who goes to meet Jesus Christ in heaven for the first time. The second is that of a blind person going to heaven and seeing their loved ones, literally, for the first time.

One day, Jesus Christ the Lord will glorify His people; the blind will see, the lame will walk and all will be restored in His image.

Philippians 3:20-21
But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.
