Jumped from her truck
Laura loved her job and the
Smell of cold, winter air
She danced up the walk
Slipped on melting ice
Went down with a thud
Onto unforgiving pavement
Rolled over into slimy mud
Ripped her green uniform pants
Gash on her knee oozing blood
She began severe shivering
Her lips blue and quivering
Got her cell and dialed 911
Gallant young paramedic
Stitched her wounded knee
