When Bees Compete

by June Sargent

When bumblebees compete - it's spring.
They wrestle for the sweets within
the hearts of flowers where they cling,
with dusty pollen on their skin.

See flowers blooming everywhere.
When bumblebees compete - it's spring .
As busy buzzing fills the air,
in rhythm little butts will swing.

Their dancing ritual will bring
more buds and blossoms to my yard.
When bumblebees compete - it's spring.
I look upon them with regard.

With climate change they'll not survive.
They need protection from death's sting,
if man himself is to survive.
When bumblebees compete - it's spring.
