The Fairy Dance

by Boogienights

A tree trunk with a tablecloth,
white satin trimmed with pale pink lace.
Set with the finest china cups,
toadstools for seats, all set in place.

The stars were gathered from the sky,
strung up across the slick dance floor.
And all the fairies dressed their best,
just waiting for the opening score.

The band then played a lovely waltz,
through the night, the fairies danced.
Those tiny lights, they twirled in pairs,
perhaps in hope of new romance.

They dined on berries, freshly picked,
sweet honey from a nearby hive.
And little biscuits, light as air,
the food on which the fairies thrived.

The dragonflies were giving rides,
much to the fairies great delight.
Though they can fly, it was such fun,
to ride the dragonflies that night.

A magic wind collected dreams,
and wishes that were made that night.
Each fairy made one wish come true,
catching each one in its flight.

The forest shone with fairy dust,
their laughter tinkled like a bell.
They sweetly sang their favorite songs,
and played some fairy games as well.

But then the sun began to rise,
and through the forest, spread its light.
The fairy dance was at its end,
much fun was had by all that night.
