Welcome To Our Family

the morning before
you were born that evening,
the temperature in
Hutchison, Kansas
was -8F
with a windchill
factor of -33F.
So your coming
into the world brought
a wonderful ray of sunshine
to your family.
Welcome to the world
our precious little one.

I wrote this to be put into the baby book for my new great-granddaughter born last night, 2-15-21.
I chose the sunflower for this post because it is the state flower of Kansas.
