When God first spoke into the universe
Great voids of darkness came to life
The heavens like a scroll spread out
Bejeweled by His magnificence.

Great rhyme and meter
Prose and verse
Rang out from worlds and stars alike
Moons reflecting light
Joined in - shadowed the dance
And all of heaven spun as if entranced
Joyfully moved - enraptured
by the rhythm of God's Word.

When God first breathed into the man
First formed from dust
He too would spring to life
His wife following after.
And it was in their little universe
That laughter was first heard.
Laughter born of joy and innocence
Of two souls coming together
Under the Word of their Creator - God.

But laughter turned to mourning
When Satan's words belied God's warning
And corruption entered in
And death by sin.
The World entered a tail spin
And it seemed the dance would end
and all would be destroyed
But then...
God's promised Word, sprung forth!
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.

And once again God's Word was spoken
Not by the heaven's, nor by stars
But by one who seemed to be
Like one of ours
Lowly and meek - a man of sorrows,
And yet, somehow...
The Word in him was quick and powerful
Sharper than any two edged sword
Piercing even to the dividing asunder
Of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow!
A marvelous discerner of the thoughts
And intents of the heart.

God's Spirit breathed new life into all those
Who believed and received His Word
Empowered them to once again bear freedom.
Freedom to worship their Creator
In spirit and in truth, unshackled - loosed!
To once again join in the dance
Of all that was created, by Him and for Him
For God's own Holy pleasure.

And now it is within these earthen vessels
That we hold His Holy Treasure
God's Love within our hearts
The hope and glory of our God
The light and joy of our creator
Praise God Almighty!
Christ - The Word in us!
