Peace for the Broken

by Anne Johnston

A Poem about God Contest Winner
Bent low beneath a heavy load. she stumbled down life's pathway.
The future looked dark and grim, and God seemed so far away.

It had been so long since she had felt God's presence within her soul.
How she longed for one more touch, to be made completely whole.

Then she heard a gentle whisper, "My child, I am still the same.
Just lay down your heavy burden as you call upon My Name."

Kneeling humbly by her bedside, with tears streaming down her face,
She confessed her fears and failures and sought God's amazing grace.

The shackles that long had bound her fell broken at Jesus' feet.
In that moment of surrender she found joy and peace complete.

The grace of God is sufficient, no matter how far we stray.
He heals the broken hearted one and forgives us when we pray.

A Poem about God
Contest Winner

So many people today are struggling, trying to carry their burdens alone. If they only realized God is just waiting for them to call. He forgives and gives peace and joy.
Matthew 11:28-30
"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
