So long ago when hope deserted me,
and conflict raged within my tattered mind,
the darkness where I hid did not protect,
ME from the monsters who would surely find...

The place where I was storing all my lies,
and crazy thoughts that seep beneath my skin.
The harsh words that you fling to cut me deep,
will showcase all the pain I hold within.

You're happy, I can see it in your eyes.
You tore my heart to pieces, it won't beat.
But there is something that you ought to know,
that I'll no longer crawl on hands and feet.

Though now with dark despair, I surely dwell,
a time will come, when I will be set free.
A new beginning waits beyond the stars,
celestial and grand it all will be.

The monsters in the dark will lose their grip,
then hope, restored, will cause my heart to soar.
The darkness in my soul will fade away,
your poison won't effect me anymore.

You say I'm crazy, guess that might be true,
for all that has transpired still goes on.
And still, I wait to soar up in the sky,
but YOU I have cast out, so glad you're gone.

Just like a fledgling bird I'll find my wings,
and soon, I will careen through azure sky.
Slowly, in peace I will make my descent,
I'll find serenity as time goes by.
