Miltonian Sonnet

To View A Brighter Day

by Sugarray77

Whenever melancholy covers me
in blankets that seem pasted to my skin,
   reverberations echo deep within,
I often seek a wise man's company,
commiserating over cups of tea.
The Psalmist who no longer hears the din
   communicating with his silent pen,
restores a sense of peaceful harmony.
And as I think on truths that he conveys
and know he's walked the road that I've been down,
I know I'll find a way to overturn
this heaviness that can so often churn.
My hope flares high erasing my deep frown,
as eyes look up to view a brighter day.

Recognized

King David wrote the Psalms and is known as the Psalmist. I am especially touched by Psalms 23... (The Lord is Melissas shepherd, she shall not want, he makes her to lie down in green pastures..he heals her soul...)

This Miltonian sonnet rhyme scheme is ABBA, ABBA, CDEEDC
